The Guardian

On Mar 11 2019 my photo ‘Rainbow's End’, taken along the banks of the Donau (aka the Danube) in Vienna, was featured on the letters page in The Guardian.

The BBC

In Oct 2016, the BBC featured my project ‘The Dark Green Line’ on World Site Day. This work came about when I competed in Adobe UK’s first Photography Jam event, held in Shoreditch, London. This involved being given the surprise brief of ‘Darkness, Light and Time’, followed by three hours to come up with an idea and shoot it.

I decided that Moorfields Eye Hospital would be a good subject for this, and started my journey at Old Street tube station, following the dark green painted line along the pavement which leads patients from there to the hospital. I photographed and interviewed patients and staff along the way about their experiences of darkness and light.

I was one of the two finalists at the Adobe event. You can view my full project here, and the BBC version in an edited format here.

BAM Magazin

In late 2019 I produced work for BAM! Magazin, an Austrian website, for an article on inspirational female bosses.

I photographed Sabria & Aniko, co-founders of the Brainstorms organisation, which focuses on neuroscience and AI with talks and festivals. The photoshoot took place in their shared apartment using natural light.

Vienna Wurstelstand - Karl Marx-Hof

In November 2019 I produced the photography & text for an article on perhaps the most famous social housing in Vienna, and longest residential building in the world, Karl Marx-Hof.

It houses around 5,000 people and is so long that it has four tram stops along its length.

Vienna Wurstelstand - Böhmischer Prater

In August 2019 I produced the photography & writing for an essay on Böhmischer Prater, the lesser-known funfair in Vienna, for the Vienna Wurstelstand website.

This kitsch-looking amusement park may only occupy one short street, but still has everything you’d want: a ferris wheel, rides, and restaurants (one with a giant pig in the garden).

Vienna Wurstelstand - Bookstores before they open

At the end of 2019 I visited several independent bookshops in Vienna before they opened in the morning, to capture photos of how they looked before the arrival of customers.

The owners of the three that I visited (Hasbach Antiquariat, Buchkontor and Hartliebs Bücher), all had interesting tales to tell me about their shops, giving an extra appreciation of their history.

Petapixel - One-sided photography book

An article on the Möbius Edition of my book ‘Hoods’ was featured on popular photography website Petapixel in Dec 2019.

This may be the first ever one-sided continuous photography book.
